In the Voice of Silence there is the opportunity to hear the real concerns of God and know we are not alone.

A reflection based on 2 Kings 19:1-15 and Psalm 42. The readings today invite us to consider when we have been dreadfully afraid, isolated and disquieted. While this may be external threat and noise, it may also be internal noise that distracts us completely from our call and direction. As we listen to the voice of silence, there is opportunity to hear the real concerns of God and discover that we are not abandoned and we are not alone. Through the silence, we discover how to live again in ways that honour God. What does it mean to put yourself in God’s presence in order to discern God’s wisdom for life’s journey?
